It’s not long now till the Weston Lions Real Ale & Cider Festival hits the beach lawns on the 28th, 29th and 30th of July!
This year there are some incredible local performers who guarantee to bring the festival alive with their music.

The James Town Brothers

Bringing a new edge to the UK folk punk and festival scene, this nine-piece collective was formed in 2019 in Somerset, England. Mixing a variety of country and celtic styles and influences, but staying true to the storytelling roots of folk, the Jamestown Brothers present an exciting and anthemic array of melodic sounds and stories ensuring the folk punk genre continues to remain in safe and secure hands. With a unique line-up of guitars, trumpet, keyboards, bass, drums, fiddle, recorder and saxophone, the band creates a huge live sound matched only by their high energy, audience rockin’ stage performances.

The Steepholmers

The Steepholmers are a sea shanty group that formed in Weston-super-Mare in early summer 2018, with a little help from a certain popular video game with a nautical theme (seriously). The group perform a range of popular sea shanties while always remaining keen on learning new ones to enhance their repertoire. It’s not unusual to see some of them dressing up abit – think tricorn hats and the ‘Poldark’ look you won’t be too far off. They perform for the community at a variety of events as well as at a monthly ‘Shanty Night’ and have performed at several festivals since they began – Mevagissey, Port Isaac, Teign and Bristol. The Steepholmers also orgainse and perform the annual Weston-super-Mare Sea Shanty and Folk Music Festival, which is taking place on the 4th -6th of August this year.

The Lipinksi Brothers

‘The Lipinski Brothers’ are a Duo featuring brothers Adam and Alex Lipinski.
They gig frequently at venues all across the UK and have received great acclaim for their delivery of classic songs from the 60’s to modern day and boast an extensive repertoire of styles and artists.

Well known and loved in their home town, the brothers are head lining the Weston Lions Real Ale & Cider Festival on the Saturday.
