The Charity Real Ale & Cider Festival is nearly here!

Organised by the Lions Club of Weston-super-Mare, the Real Ale and Cider Festival will be returning to Weston’s beach lawns on July 28th – 30th.

The weekend long festival is a huge hit each year and welcomes over 5000 visitors. Gates will open from 11am and the Weston Lions will be offering a range of locally sourced ales and ciders from breweries in the Somerset and Bristol area.

When the Real Ale & Cider Festival first began in 2008, there were just under 40 beers AND ciders on offer – with just 2/3 people serving behind the bar.

Now, with showcasing local breweries, introducing a broader range, as well as the usual crowd pleasers – a whooping 18,878 pints were served last year, from 26 varieties of cider and 39 beers, with 25/30 volunteers behind the bar to attend to all the festival goers!
This years selection of drinks is looking to be just as thirst quenching – if not more so!

The festival will host a variety of music and entertainment complementing the audience’s ale sipping and cider tasting shenanigans. Show casing up-and-coming performers as well as popular bands – the headline act is sure to bring in the crowds on Saturday! Line up soon to be announced – make sure to follow the event on Facebook to get the latest updates – @ Weston Lions Real Ale Festival.

The Real Ale & Cider festival promises to be a fantastic event, with a variety of food, beverage venders, great music and of course, the sum and substance of the weekend – the awesome assortment of ciders and ales.

This year will be the 14th festival and over it’s span, the Weston Lions Real Ale & Cider Festival has raised over £330,000 for charities! This years beneficiaries are Pancreatic Cancer UK, GoKidsGo!, Weston Hospicecare and SANDS.
